Ana Isabel Pereira works as a staff anaesthesiologist at the Department of Anaesthesiology of Centro Hospitalar de Vila Nova de Gaia/Espinho in Portugal.
She is involved in airway management teaching, being responsible for organizing airway management courses and workshops locally and participating as faculty member of national and international airway management courses. Ana Isabel completed her Master’s Degree in Difficult Airway Management and is an EAMS certified Airway Teacher. She was promoted to TAT educator after teaching internationally and implementing such airway trainer courses in Portugal.
Due to her profound interest in clinical airway management she specialized in providing anaesthesia services for bronchology and interventional pulmonology. She is the coordinator of the Difficult Airway Management Group of her Department.
Ana Isabel covered the position as Portuguese Council Representative of EAMS and was elected during the EAMS general assembly to the Board of Directors of the Society. She is the EAMS representative of the Society in the European Society of Anaesthesiologists and Intensive Care (ESAIC) since January 2021 and member of the Scientific Subcommittee 11 (Respiration and Airway Management) of EASIC.
Whenever Ana Isabel is not working or developing enthusiastic educational plans she is traveling and enjoying life.
